What could possibly go wrong?

Rose Hartschuh - Monday, February 20, 2017

“What could possibly go wrong?” is the little joke we like to say to each other at Pickwick. It helps to have a sense of humor as you jump into yet another event that is completely new. We try our very best to think through the scenario and anticipate every detail, yet with each occasion there is inevitably a twist involved. Experience is proving to be just like that really tough teacher that you don’t fully appreciate at the time. But as you glance backward, you can’t help but respect the hard lessons because those are the ones that prepare you the most.

We get very energized by trying new things at Pickwick. Just a few of them this past year included market crate subscriptions, ticketed tours, a kiddie tractor pull, frozen cherry orders, milking a cow, craft classes, flashlight corn maze, donut fundraiser, barn dances, and resale events. There are some things that went better than expected, and a few that fell a little short. Even so, you can count on the fact that we will keep trying to find ways to enrich the community.

As we round the corner and come down the homestretch of this inaugural year, we are incredibly grateful for the grace you’ve extended us and the encouragement to keep trying new things. Wait until you see what’s coming! What could possibly go wrong?

Forward motion always,
