Coming to Life

Rose Hartschuh - Monday, April 18, 2016

Spring is here. Outside my window, I see the sun peeking over the horizon. The birds are starting to chirp. I hear the sound of a tractor whirring in the distance. This ambiance can be described with the cliché, “the calm before the storm.” Soon in rural Ohio, and all across the United States, our world is going to erupt with activity. The sun will seemingly come up (and go down!) much faster. A chorus of other critters will join the birds. Tractors will no longer whirr; they will whiz. Life will start to move at a swifter pace.

As we look forward to the next few months at Pickwick, we know that our project will soon be moving much quicker pace, as well. The Loft, our event space, is nearing completion. The Market will be open before we know it. In fact, way before we’re ready, it will be fall again, students on field trips will be buzzing around, and our year will have come full circle.

Yes, life will be picking up speed as spring and summer come to life. In midst of the hustle and bustle, take time to relish the sunshine, listen to the birds’ song, and smell the freshly turned soil.

Enjoy the small things,
