Acres of Adventure is a unique destination, located right at Pickwick Place. Its activities allow all ages to experience fun, hands-on activities. They are designed to connect the visitors with the world around them and help them to understand food, farming, and the environment. Our primary goal is to reach guests of all ages with a positive message about food and farming. We want you to leave feeling connected with the farmers that grow your food! You'll be so entertained that you won't even realize you're learning!
Meet the Team:
Greg and Rose Hartschuh started building the framework several years ago, when they opened Sycamore Run Farms at their rural farm in 2013. This year, they are relocating to a new location, just on the edge of Bucyrus. The more urban location will help with accessibility and visibility. Although they have a new location and a new name, they keep the same commitment to helping non-farmers connect with where their food comes from. Greg is a full-time dairy farmer and helps with the fabrication of new activities and displays. Rose is a former high school agriculture teacher and is constantly looking for new experiences to provide their guests.
They are joined by Megan Hunker, an Ohio State graduate with a degree in agriculture communications. Megan has a solid upbringing in the livestock industry and brings new ideas and perspectives to the team.
Each of the individuals involved combine a passion for farming and a willingness to communicate, which strengths all of Acres of Adventure’s programs.
